March 2011 tip of the month

Tips on what's going on and how to get around Walt Disney World

The beginning of March is always a very busy time on Disney property. With the Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival starting on March 2nd (it lasts until May 15th) and ESPN the Weekend happening March 3 - 6, you will most likely find the parks extremely crowded the first weekend in March.

Also, towards the end of March there will be an upward spike in attendance as schools across the nation begin their Spring Break holidays and many families will be heading towards Central Florida and our abundance of theme parks.

That being said this is one of the best times to enjoy all that Walt Disney World has to offer as Central Florida weather is for the most part very comfortable to residents and visitors alike. Locals will be enjoying the mild temperatures (wishing they lasted a little longer before the heat of summer sneaks back in) while visitors will be glad to see temperatures in the mid 70's to mid 80's (there still might be snow on the ground where some of them are from) and the lack of rain (it is the middle of the dry season in Florida) means that wet weather most likely will not ruin your plans.

There are also some deals to be had on stays at Disney resorts for Florida residents, so make sure you let the reservationist know where you live.

Enjoy your time at Disney!
