Off through the waves they roll

Port Canaveral, a destination in its own right with its diverse businesses, entertainment areas, parks and water sports, has grown from a quiet little fishing harbor to one of the world’s premier cruise ports, with many options for ships, destinations and length of cruises.
This is Orlando’s port, of course, and it is the home of Disney Cruise Line, with Disney Wonder and Disney Magic longtime residents and two new Mouseka-vessels due to arrive in the next few years.
That’s not all.
Royal Caribbean International’s huge, 3,634-passenger Freedom of the Seas calls Port Canaveral home too, as does a second RCI ship and two from Carnival Cruise Line, with Norwegian Cruise Line’s Norwegian Sun making regular calls here.
Cruise lines that depart from Port Canaveral:
Carnival Cruise Lines: Ships presently include Carnival Sensation, which offers three and four-night cruises to Nassau and Freeport; Carnival Ecstasy, which will offer cruises starting November 2011 to the Bahamas and the Eastern Caribbean; Carnival Dream, which offers seven-night cruises to the Eastern and Western Caribbean.Website
Disney Cruise Line: Disney’s Port Canaveral based cruise ships are Disney Magic, which offers a variety of longer cruises; and Disney Dream, which has three to five night cruises to Castaway Cay and Nassau.Website
Norwegian Cruise Line: Starting in October, 2010, 1,936-passenger Norwegian Sun, which was built for “freestyle cruising,” will sail alternating seven-day eastern and western Caribbean cruises from Port Canaveral. Website
Royal Caribbean International: The 2,744-passenger Monarch of the Seas undertakes three-and four-day trips to Coco Cay and Nassau, and its behemoth sister, Freedom of the Seas, goes to Coco Cay, Charlotte Amalie and Philippsburg; and Labadee, Ocho Rios,
George Town and Cozumel.Website
